About Ahzen
Ahzen has five stages of being that follows along with the five different kinds of Ahzenai. These shifts in appearance and location are called Cycles and are named after the different elements of the Ahzenai.
Ahzen is located in a cave deep beneath the ground, however it has a generous source of natural light that allows plant life to thrive. Where this light comes from is unknown but it is speculated that it has something to do with the energy the Vortex uses. This energy that the vortex creates and uses is unknown to the modern world. All attempts to determine its composition have failed thus far. The vortex seemingly has some sentience to it and may react to events around the cave. There are rumors that the vortex is merely a tool used by some greater force. This same energy allows multiple entrances into Ahzen which will often shift and relocate without notice. While this feature can be inconvenient, Ahzen has an uncanny way of appearing just when you need it. The oldest known steward of Ahzen is Valycon, a large dull red Ahzenai. Before him, there were no such records kept to maintain how many Ahzenai were created or where they went. Many of these older Ahzenai no longer live, others dwell in the deepest parts of Ahzen. Those that remain in the outside world are often wrought by dementia and other forms of psychosis. When the vortex begins to alter from its usual slow turn, it signals that a new Ahzenai will soon be born. Shortly after the speed-up the color palette of the coming Ahzenai appears in the swirling light and energy of the vortex. When the vortex has difficulty producing an Ahzenai, it generally means that there is something off balance with the coming Ahzenai. Twins or triplets, while extremely rare demonstrate this without fail. Once an Ahzenai has been born, there is no way for it to go back through the vortex. The vortex is not a portal from one world to another, but rather some whirlwind of energy that plucks and chooses matter to combine to form the Ahzenai. Should an Ahzenai's curiosity get the better of them and they step into the vortex, they will only see that which is on the outside - swirling white light. |
About the Ahzenai:
-Aah-Zen-Eye
-There are 4 elements of Ahzenai: Plasma, Matter, Gas and Liquid. An Ahzenai may not have any element at all. -They have two types of horns: Curve and Straight. -Ahzenai are omnivorous, but prefer meat. -Most Ahzenai are born from the vortex with a name. Only customs may have their names picked. Name changes are almost unheard of. -Ahzenai are never born with accessories, custom or otherwise. However they can collect trinkets through their travels. -Ahzenai emerge from the vortex fully grown. They do not age like typical creatures. Their minds will wear down before their bodies ever will. -Ahzenai do not reproduce through actions of their own. Should the vortex find favor with a couple, it may choose to bless them with a fully grown cub that resembles both parents. This is done through a process that involves merging the energies of the Ahzenai together and using it to create a new Ahz. These merges are very rare. -Ahzenai that choose to stay in Ahzen will essentially be immortal. The energy that the vortex produces sustains them. Those that leave will have their minds gradually break down. Should that Ahzenai's companion die, they too will die and their energy will be returned to the vortex. -The Ahzenai created from recycled energy will not remember their past lives, though their pelt may resemble some part of those past lives. -Injuries are not uncommon among Ahzenai and they only recover as fast as they are tended to. It is very rare for Ahzenai to die of infection, as they tend to have a high immunity to most illnesses. -Ahzenai are susceptible to pain and are more than capable of feeling advanced emotions. They are intelligent, Sapient beings in general. They feel sorrow, joy and anger and are able to understand complex theories about the universe if taught. Each Ahzenai is different so one should not expect one Ahzenai to learn or behave the same way as another. |
